Our Treatment Options

Metal Braces

Metal braces are considered the "gold standard" in orthodontics. They are a great option for everyone at any age.

Clear Braces

Clear or ceramic braces are a great alternative option for those who want a more esthetic appearance.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a great option for those who are looking for comfort and minimal changes to their brushing routine.

Surgical Orthodontics

Just as orthodontics repositions teeth, surgical orthodontics (also known as orthognathic surgery) corrects jaw alignment to improve your ability to chew, speak, and breathe. Additionally, surgical orthodontics may be used to improve facial appearance. Moving the jaws also moves the teeth, so braces are always used in conjunction with jaw surgery.

Temporomandibular Disorders

Millions of Americans suffer from chronic facial and neck pain as well as severe, recurring headaches. In some cases, this pain is due to Temporomandibular Disorder, also known as TMD.

Your temporomandibular joints, or TMJs, connect your lower jaw to your skull. These joints get a lot of use throughout the day as you speak, chew, swallow, and yawn. Pain in and around these joints can be unpleasant and may even restrict movement.

Our Technology

Being on top of the current technology allows us at Great Lakes Orthodontics to provide you with the best treatment experience possible.

Digital Radiographs

Digital radiographs allow the orthodontists to evaluate what they cant see in the mouth. This allows us to determine the best treatment plan based on what the x-ray can reveal.

Digital Scanner

Digital scanners have allowed us at Great Lakes Orthodontics to minimize the need to take impressions. It is cleaner, faster, and more accurate.

Electronic Treatment Chart

Digital charting gives the orthodontist information about your treatment plan right at the chair, or from anywhere there is internet.

Orthodontic Instructions

1

Emergency Care

There are a few types of emergencies during orthodontic treatment. Some require immediate attention, and others can wait.

2

General Soreness

It is common for patients to complain of tooth tenderness for a day or more after an orthodontic appointment. Usually these symptoms are managed easily by the patient through the temporary use of an over-the counter analgesic.

3

Retainer Care

Because teeth can continue to move, if you lose or break your retainers, you'll want to call the office for an appointment to get a new set made.
